I am searching for Edward Goodwin. This is my great, great, great, grandfather. He fought with George Washington and his son William fought with George Rogers Clark in the Revolutionary War. Our family tradition states that he is from Wales. He lived in Virginia in the 1700's. We live on the homeplace that William purchased in 1800 and have a 200 year old Indiana Homestead Award. One relative said he might have been sent to the Colonies from New Gate Prison in London. My address is Carol Haas, 6712 Salem Noble Rd. , Charlestown, In 47111. The Welsh people made a documentary in our home town a couple of years ago about the Prince Madoc theory. Early native Americans were suppose to have been able to talk with Welsh pioneers. We are living in the area where this might have taken place. I wondered if our relative was one of the early pioneers that might have been able to speak welsh with the native Americans. I would love any information on how to do a genealogical reserach. Thanks , Carol

I was looking at your information on the Ancient Goodwin genealogy and noticed Moses Goodwins 10th child was named Aaron. Do you have any additional information on him? My mother is Edith Goodwin, one of 18 children born to Arthur Aaron Goodwin and Catherine Abley, my grandparents. My grandfather is the son of Aaron Goodwin who I am told originatedfrom the state of Maine. Aaron Goodwin, my great grandfather is buried in Norwood, Mass. I have not been able to locate his grave to see if my great grandmother is buried there with him. My grandfather, Arthur Aaron, is buried in Walpole, Mass along side his wife Catherine. I am looking for more information on the Goodwin family and hopefully you may know more.Thank You,Chris O'Neil

Their children as of 1851 were: Harriet, born 1845 in MA., William F., born 1847 in MA., and Emma E., born 1851 in Boston.Emma married (1) John Temple,(2) Charles Libby, (3) Albert Jerault. She died in 1923. I like your site. Music is nice to listen to while reading. My husband's mother was a Goodwin. Her line came down through Ozias Goodwin who, you no doubt know, came over in 1632 on the Lyon with his wife and one child; and his brother, Williams, wife and child. It's always interesting to see another line. My sister-in-law did the research on our Goodwin line, but only did the direct descendants. I like to do the finger lines if possible and see how the families change directions. More interested in what they did and where they did it! Not so much the "who" they were.
